Set of eight late 18th Century Gustavian chairs.
This set is not identical but very similar. One chair is signed by Joseph Ruste, who was a master chair-maker in Stockholm between 1772 and 1792.
Each chair rests on square tapering legs and a H-form stretcher. Rectilinear chair backs feature vertical splats with guilloche decoration.
In attractive aged blue/grey paint, this is a lovely set of chairs that are well suited to contemporary and period dining rooms alike.
