Late 19th Century French amboyna wood bureau de dame.

The bureau de dame is the embodiment of elegant French furniture, meaning ladies' writing desk.

This is a fine example, with graceful tapered cabriole legs. The fall front desk features a leather inset and an attractive geometric parquetry panel.

Scallop carved apron and slope inlaid with birds and foliage. Gilded ornamentation throughout and brass gallery to the top.  

This piece exhibits wonderful attention to detail throughout.
