20th Century Veramin Fragment Carpet
20th Century antique Veramin carpets are widely recognized as among the most exceptional Persian weavings, best known for their remarkable quality, fine crisp drawings and wide variety of rich vegetable-dyed colours, as well as the characteristic designs that set these carpets apart from those from the neighbouring regions.
This handsome fragment belongs to a high-end workshop weaving dating to the turn of the century, with a ivory ground, well-complimented by the darker colours in the drawing and the faded ochre-tone accents - all in vegetable dyes, which have taken on a beautiful patina with age
The artist has employed a monochrome all-over composition, lending the carpet a feeling of quiet formality.
This piece is retained in very good condition for everyday use.
An elegant carpet, which would add charm and style to any interior.
