Unframed, signed oil on canvas painting depicting Leda and The Swan, after Boucher.
Signed by the artist to the lower right and annotated to the rear.
The Myth of Leda & The Swan: In the myth, the god Zeus turned into a swan and seduced Leda, Queen of Sparta. That event had huge consequences, according to classical mythology: Leda's intercourse with the swan and then with her husband, King Tyndareus, resulted in two eggs, from which hatched Helen, Clytemnestra and the twins Castor and Pollux. Unusually, in this depiction, there is a second woman and it is unclear which is intended to be Leda.
