Folding French 20th Century fireman's ladder.
Dating to the early 20th Century, this wonderful ladder unfolds to four metres with a metal mechanism. It has hooked ends especially adapted for use in firefighting.
In its original dark red paint, it bears the maker's label of Joseph Meunier, Lyon, France. The ladder appears in the Illustration taken from the 1914 Catalogue of the Company Vve. Ant. Warmbier & Jn. Meunier based in Lyon, from Municipal Archives of Rosny-sous-Bois.
