Wonderful set of twelve 19th Century fruit chromolithographs. From La Belgique Horticole Journal des Jardins, 1864.

This journal was edited by Charles Morren. Morren was a Belgian botanist, professor of botany and director of the Jardin Botanique de l'Universite de Liege.

He employed four artists to work on these botanical plates- Marie Jean Guillaume Cambresier, R. Sartorius, Francois Stroobant and Francois De Tollenaere.

These chromolithographs are presented in bespoke handmade Italian wooden frames, behind Tru Vu glass which affords the prints some protection.
