Stainless Steel Console by David Hicks
Stainless steel console table by David Hicks.
With a glass top and shelf below, steel frame and brass accents.
David Hicks (1929-1998), is widely regarded as the most influential designer of his generation.
His main focus was interior design, but he turned his hand to furniture design, architecture and landscape gardening.
Much of Hicks' work is defined by mixing old with new; he threw out traditional English beliefs of a safe, traditional interior decorating scheme.
He mixed chrome and steel with heirloom antiques without batting an eyelid, with marvellous results and an A-List client pool.
This table is a simple yet classic example of modernist design and would blend into a range of interiors.
England, 1970s.
