French Painted Vineyard Baskets

Wonderful collection of French vineyard baskets from the Champagne region, circa 1900. 

These baskets have wonderful sturdy oak handles, but it's their amazing painted blue colour that really distinguishes them.

They feature the initials of the grower in large stencilled letters, some in clear red and others in more faded black: 'C S.' 

Originally used to collect grapes during the harvest, they will find numerous uses in today's home for storage and display.

These baskets have fantastic character and will bestow French provincial charm on any interior.
