Pair of Gilt Bronze and Marble Cassolettes

Fine pair of 19th Century green marble and gilt bronze cassolettes.

They have the capital letter N on them, which could be for Napoleon. They feature extravagant Empire motifs, including grand eagles and lion's paw feet. 

Very smart and decorative pair, of great size. 

Cassolettes were historically used for cooking and serving dishes.
