Magnificent Set of Eight Romanian Marbled Glass Fish Vases
A magnificent display from a set of eight mid 20th Century Romanian marbled glass fish vases, Circa 1950/60s.
Often mistaken for glass from Murano, these fish were produced in Romanian glass factories for the local audience who originally liked to position them on top of their new Television Box. Likely thinking that, with the new Television sets, they now had access to the world’s Gold Fish Bowl, thus keeping the theme going!
These sculptural vases look stunning and are displayed in groups together in a bathroom or in front of a window with light framing them. The tallest fish is 15cm high, longest fish is 35cm long.
