Mid 18th Century Breton Quimper Marriage Armoire

A superb early example of a Quimper marriage armoire, from the Finistère department of Brittany in north-western France.
In heavy solid hand-carved oak with a scrubbed back bleached finish, the carving on the front represents love and marriage.
Original iron fittings and working lock, and fitted inside with a shelf and hanging rail.
Circa 1750.
