Amusing 20th Century advertising sign for 'Verboden Vrucht' beer [Translation: Forbidden Fruit].
Originally, it was brewed for a local town festival in Belgium. It is more commonly known as De Verboden Vrucht by the Belgians and Le Fruit Defendu by the French.
The bottle caused uproar in the USA because the label had a picture of Adam and Eve nearly naked on it, until the Americans were persuaded that it was not a picture of Adam and Eve but based on a Reubens painting!
Printed on card with a gloss finish in a tole frame with hanging hook to rear. A fun gift or bar accessory.
