Pair of late 19th Century American folk art oil on canvas paintings, circa 1880-90.

A commentary on changing times. 

The same woodland avenue in both paintings, firstly with the farmer and his flock grazing. Then, in the second, the avenue has become a street scene with pavements and cyclists. The same farmer can be seen in the distance. 

In later 19th Century style maple frames.
