Superb pair of French 19th Century fauteuil armchairs.
These elegant carved wood armchairs embody the earlier Louis XVI style.
They feature attractive bonnet tops adorned with guilloche carving which is also repeated to the seat rails.
With beautifully outscrolled armrests adorned with rosettes.
The spacious seats rest on column tapering and reeded legs with further carved rosettes to the square sections above.
These chairs retain their original paint finish in a soft white and they have been reupholstered in an antique hemp linen.
A wonderful neoclassical pair with timeless appeal for both period and contemporary settings.
