Pair of 19th Century French Painted Armchairs
Pair of 19th Century French cream painted armchairs with original needlework upholstery.
This fine pair of chairs, conceived in the Louis XVI manner, retain their original cream paintwork. The upholstery is the original floral needlework, worked in gross and petit point needlepoint with a flowing floral design. They are also decorated with fine carving. The backs are ornamented with leaf work and flowers, the arms have panels of harebells and leaves and the seat frames are carved with a repeating ropework/gadrooned moulding.
The legs are finely fluted and taper down to toupie feet.
An attractive pair of chairs with beautiful needlework which retains its original strong colours.
Three pairs available - priced per pair.
