Pair of Crested English Serving Dishes

DA15 - 2946
In stock

Pair of silver plated, lidded serving dishes. Engraved with the crest & motto 'Ne Oublie' [Do Not Forget]. It is the crest from the arms of the Duke of Montrose, Chief of Clan Graham. The crest, of an eagle killing a heron, is surrounded by a buckled belt. This may be due to the Graham early properties having good salmon fishing and could explain an antipathy to herons.
