Pair of Early 20th Century Leather Library Armchairs
Fantastic pair of early 20th Century oak barley twist leather armchairs.
Perfect for the library, these chairs combine iconic barley twist carving throughout the front legs, uprights and stretchers with caned backs and enclosed sides.
Barley twist furniture was originally baroque, coming over to England from Portugal with Katherine of Braganza in 1661, upon her marriage to Charles II.
This style has been revived time and time again due to its timeless elegance and is combined with more modern elements in these stunning chairs.
Comfort has not been sacrificed, with lovely deep buttoned green leather cushioning to the back, seat and armrests.
