Howard & Sons, established in 1820, was renowned as the best in upholstered furniture during the 19th Century and is still highly coveted today.
Their sofas and armchairs combine comfort with unique design and their timeless style is a compliment to any interior.
The armchair is one of their most iconic pieces, with distinctive arms that are shorter than the length of the seat.
In 1866 came the patent that would make Howard & Sons so famous, the coil sprung 'Elastic Seat.' The deep seated, highly comfortable nature of Howard & Sons chairs and sofas is one of the features that makes them so well-loved.
This pair have turned walnut front legs on original brass castors, which are fully stamped at the rear.
