Pair of beautiful Old Sheffield plate candelabra. Circa 1830.
In wonderful original condition, these four arm candelabra are very detailed and decorative.
This type of silver-plating begun in the 1740s. Old Sheffield plate became very successful from the 1760s onwards, and plated wares were produced on a grand scale.
This method of plating was eventually superseded by the invention of electroplate around 1840 by Ellington & Co, replacing the production of Old Sheffield Plate.
These will be wonderfully atmospheric in any interior.

Returned stock must be delivered to our warehouse within 14 days, in the same condition it left us. The cost to return will be equal to the original delivery cost and will be deducted from your refund. We do not refund the original delivery cost.
