Late 20th Century aquatint of a Philodendron by Sam Szafran. 

This original aquatint is in greys with wonderful detail and signed by the artist in red ink. It is numbered 18 out of an edition of 75, with a stamp for the master printmaker Piero Crommelynck, Paris, 1996. 

Sam Szafran (1934-2019) was a French artist and is considered to be one of the most influential figures of the last 50 years.

His works have been widely exhibited internationally. Examples can be seen in major museum collections around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d'Orsay to name just a few. 

This aquatint is presented in a waxed oak box frame.
