A set of beautiful hand finished chromolithographs published circa 1850 by Louis Van Houtte in” Flore des serves et des Jardin de L’Europe “. These fine vibrant engravings are highly sought after and quite rare. Van Houtte founded the aforementioned publication which appeared monthly for almost 40years. The engravings are notable for the craftsmanship of the Belgian lithographer Severyns Stroobant and De Pannemaker who mastered the art of colour-printing from stone.
