Set of Four Engravings of Limbs from Ackermann's 'Cabinet of Arts'

Set of four framed engravings of limbs from 'The Cabinet of Arts', published by Rudolph Ackermann in 1821. 

These engravings are from a book of artistic studies. The full title of the work, edited by John Dougall, was 'The Cabinet of Arts: Being a New and Universal Drawing Book Forming a Complete System of Drawing; Painting in all its Branches, Etching and Engraving.' 

German-born Rudolph Ackermann first came to England in the 1780s and pioneered lithography. He established his own publishing house, Ackermann & Co, in 1795. 

These fascinating engravings offer a wonderfully unique form of wall decoration.
