Small 18th Century English George I Walnut Bureau
Small 18th Century George I English walnut bureau.
Of late George I period, this lovely bureau is a fine example of English walnut furniture. Good signs of superior quality evident throughout. The interior of the bureau is also particularly nice, the shaped tops to the pigeon holes and the inlay on the central cupboard door being good examples of quality. It retains a remarkable colour and patination to the surfaces with plenty of variation in colour. Standing on shaped bracket feet.
A very nice example of small proportions. Circa 1720.
