Mora clocks have a rich history which adds to their charm. When the Swedish town of Mora was affected by severe draughts, residents fled in high numbers to Stockholm. 

In the city, they learnt new skills and trades including clock-making. Upon their return, they carried on the trade and different families were responsible for different parts of the clock-making process.
