19th Century Provincial Threshing Board
Provincial 19th Century threshing board.
This wonderful board has great character. It has its original textured wooden slats, which would have originally been used to separate grains from straw.
All four boards are thick, they have been formed using a variety of slats with a somewhat narrower and curved top.
Original designs have been found to date to the ancient Neolithic period, drawings of early developments exist on the walls of Egyptian tombs. It wasn't until the arrival of combine harvesters that the threshing boards were no longer used.
This board is in great condition, it has very little signs of wear and is beautifully time-worn.
