19th Century Wing Armchair
Looking for the perfect antique fireside armchair?
This beautiful high wing back armchair represents the best of English country house style, dating to the early 19th Century.
With excellent quality carved and turned mahogany legs on original gilt brass castors to the fore, and swept sabre legs on castors to the rear.
The frame features the iconic 'wing back' and outward scrolling arms, giving it a dramatic silhouette. These chairs were often called fireside chairs, as one could enjoy the warmth of the fire whilst your back and sides were protected from any stray draughts.
This chair has been newly restored and fully reupholstered in the traditional manner, with an ivory linen top covering fabric with deep buttoned and piped edge detail.
A fantastic, timeless piece which looks as wonderful in today's interiors as in those of Victorian England.
