Set of Four Rudbeck Owl Prints
Wonderful set of four large reproduction Rudbeck owl prints.
Olof Rudbeck the Younger, also known as Olaus Rudbeckius Junior, was born in 1660 in Sweden and lived until 1740. He was a professor of medicine at Uppsala University. He was also an able botanist and ornithologist. In 1695, he joined an expedition to Lapland commissioned by the King.
He was a keen student of nature and illustrated all the wonders he saw on his trip. The illustrations are immensely detailed and accurate and were then printed.
Many of these famous prints were reproduced in the 1980s in a limited number. The four owls in this set come from that limited reproduction.
These prints offer a unique opportunity to bring work of historical significance and artistic beauty into your home.
