Early 20th Century Deed Box
Early 20th Century tin deed box belonging to Webster & Wrights Trust.
Deeds indicated the ownership of an asset and deed boxes were vital for keeping track of finances and property.
Grand homes would often store their own deed boxes to manage their assets, but from the 18th Century onwards it was more common to assign them over to a solicitor who would have a box per client case.
These deed boxes are lovely things to own and represent a moment in our evolving history of documenting and recording things.
