Jack Grimble Burr Elm and Rippled Sycamore Side Table
Hexagonal burr elm and rippled sycamore side table, by Jack Grimble of Cromer.
This unusual table features a hexagonal table top, supported on four splayed legs. Stunning patina throughout.
Works by Jack Grimble of Cromer are becoming increasingly collectible. He is often compared to Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson, along with other craftsmen from the 'Yorkshire Critters' school.
His style developed after extensive study of Medieval English furniture, and pieces such as this table combine Arts and Crafts principles with primitive design.
Grimble worked on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, including taking on commissions for the Royal Family.
Lovely, unique piece that is well suited to a range of interiors.
Underside signed: Jack Grimbe, Cromer, 1967.
