These charming chairs embody Swedish provincial furniture, which relied on native timbers including birchwood.
The craftsmanship is evident, with visible screws and the natural grain of the wood and its medullary rays on display.
Swedish furniture values functionality and specific purpose first and foremost and the unassuming nature of this set makes them all the more endearing.
Skill is evident in the scallop carving to the bottom of the top rail. Stretchers to the front and sides for durability.
