Set of Six Early 19th Century Redoute Engravings
Set of six early 19th Century Redoute engravings mounted within hand-painted and lacquered bobbin frames.
With hessian mounts and AR70 art glass, these engravings were created by Pierre-Joseph Redouté.
Pierre-Joseph Redouté was a painter and botanist from Belgium, known for his watercolours of roses, lilies and other flowers at Malmaison, many of which were published as large, color stipple engravings. He was nicknamed "the Raphael of flowers" and has been called the greatest botanical illustrator of all time.
These engravings are in great condition for their age and shall continue to be a staple within any interior!
