Set of Six French Folding Bistro Chairs
Matched set of six red-painted French folding wood and iron bistro chairs.
Four of the six chairs bear the Biere Colmar mark to the rear.
These charming chairs feature wooden slatted seats and backs on a folding iron frame. With their wonderful atmosphere and patina, one is transported to the cafes and bistros of Paris, the French Riviera and Provence. Circa 1920.
Furniture that could be folded up and stacked away at the end of the day was essential to bistro culture from the 19th Century onwards. It allowed owners to accommodate more customers and avoid paying rent for a fixed terrace.
These chairs will bring a dose of French bistro culture to any indoor or outdoor space.
