Thames Valley Smokers Bow Chair

English 19th Century Thames Valley Windsor smokers chair, circa 1860. 

This ash and elm chair has a wonderfully rich and deep patina. It features a carved bow back with spindle turned uprights and outscrolled high armrests. 

The spacious dished seat rests over four bold baluster legs with a rare double stretcher. 

Stamped T.C to the back of the seat. 

These classic Windsors are sometimes referred to as a 'bow' or 'Captain's' chair. They have a timeless character and make for great side or desk chairs.
