Still Life of White Roses by Susanna Linhart
Lovely still life painting by Susanna Linhart.
This 20th Century painting depicts a glass vase on a table that has been filled with white roses.
Susanna Linhart was an English artist based in the Foret des Maures which is close to La Garde Freinet in the south of France. Susanna spent many years living there, first with the sculptor Lynn Chadwick, later with her husband Andrew, an English academic from Naples. Her work consists mainly of still life and landscape, on some occasions combining the two.
The colours within this painting are lovely and clean. It offers a lovely use of depth and texture to create a simplistic but interesting scene.
A wonderful addition for both classic and contemporary settings.
