Mid 19th Century cast iron strong box/safe.

With drop-side carrying handles and quite rare repeating recumbent lion raised relief panelled detail on all sides. Comes complete with two original keys.

The key escutcheon plate with a secret thumbnail press to the side to release the plate and allow access to the lock.

The width size below includes the handles the main box width is 46cm. This superb strong box is of great weight and quality circa 1850.
