Falkirk Foundry Cast Iron Stick Stand
Scottish 19th Century cast iron stick stand.
This decorative stick stand comes from the Falkirk Foundry and is attributed to Christopher Dresser.
This stand is extensively decorated, with a central sunburst motif within the bonnet top and foliate decoration adorning the support. Detachable drip trays at the bottom.
With old white paint to the front and vibrant green to the back.
This is a lovely practical piece for bringing character to a hallway or porch.
Christopher Dresser is considered the first industrial designer. He worked on practical domestic objects using the new-found techniques of machinery. Dresser was inspired by botanical forms and Japanese art. He designed for several important manufacturers throughout Great Britain.
