19th Century Gilt Convex Mirror

Large 19th Century gilt convex mirror. 

This very decorative mirror features a gilded frame with applied ball decoration to the outer border and an ebonised moulded inner border. 

The crest is adorned with an urn finial and the bottom is finished with graceful acanthus decoration. 

Retaining its original mirror plate with light foxing and blemishes.  

Convex mirrors, with their ornate frames and deceptive bulbous plates, have appealed for centuries.

They provide a wonderful decorative accent wherever they are placed.
