Marche Pour la Paix Picasso Poster

'Marche pour la paix' French poster of Picasso, dating to 1982. 

Translating to 'march for peace', this poster announced a gathering to denounce the conflicts in Lebanon and Palestine, as well as the nuclear arms race going on at the time. 

Alongside Picasso is a block of text stating, 'marche pour la paix, Paris 20 Juin, 14h, Gare Montparnarsse Hôtel de Ville.'

Several posters were created for this event featuring art by Birga. Birga depicted a variety of famous people associated with peace and civil rights movements. Another poster featuring John Lennon is available.
