French Painted Trumeau Mirror

Fantastic French 19th Century painted trumeau mirror.

This mirror has an imposing architectural form. The huge dentil moulded cornice sits above a panel with decorative neoclassical carved details. Detailed carved capitals sit on either side. The areas surrounding the mirror are painted a wonderfully striking blue colour. 

The mirror itself has a matched rectilinear profile. The gilded frame features elegant neoclassical carved details. 

Light and attractive wear to both the paint and the gilding, with red bole showing through the latter.
