Regency Period Window Seat
SKU
SB2010672
A stylish Regency window seat, circa 1820.
Featuring original lions paw castors, a neoclassical motif used heavily during the Regency period.
The production of day beds and window seats drew heavily from Grecian styles during the Regency.
Similar seats to this one can be seen in the books published contemporaneously during the Regency by Rudolph Ackermann. They are distinctive for this elegant, curvaceous shape.
The pronounced scroll ends and outswept legs of this window seat make it a very classical piece and an example of the finest Regency design.
With traces of historic paint.
