Set of Nine Mushroom Engravings
SKU
WD7626570
Set of nine 19th Century engravings of mushrooms, by Joseph Roques.
These vivacious engravings depict various species of mushrooms with superb hand-colouring.
The engravings come from the Atlas des Champignons Comestibles et Vénéneux Victor Masson & Fils, which was published in Paris in 1864.
Roques was born in Valance and studied at the University of Montpellier before moving to Paris, where he established himself as an eminent botanist.
These will make a brilliant feature clustered together on a wall, and will bring great colour and history to any space.
