A wonderful set of six 20th Century white French metal folding seats, inscribed to the backrests with 'Ville de Marseille', the French port city of the south of France.

These practical and decorative chairs would have been used for village fetes, concerts, etc.

Designed by Jean Souvigne in 1965, these chairs are called 'Plichaise'. Robust and easy to store these evocative chairs work as stylish interior and garden chairs.

In great condition with some loss to paintwork, commensurate with age and use.
