Sheraton Style Painted Chair

English 19th Century side chair in the earlier Sheraton style.

This charming chair features an upholstered back with the distinctive Georgian shield-back design that was popularised by the likes of Sheraton and Hepplewhite. 

The caned seat reflects the shield design in reverse with its gently shaped apron. 

This chair is supported on elegant square tapering legs to the front which terminate in spade feet. Splayed rear legs. 

This chair was originally gilded but now exhibits old worn paint. 

This is a perfect chair for the bedroom or bathroom but it will be a charming feature in any corner of the home.
