Small Louis XVI Revival Dog or Cat Bed

Elegant petite dog or cat bed, in carved giltwood. Circa 1900. 

This upholstered bed is in the neoclassical style, with its beautiful downswept sides and reeded circular tapered legs surmounted by rosettes. 

Dog beds were very popular in the Louis XVI period, and later models were often made in this style also- particularly during the second half of the 19th Century. 

This piece is in great condition, and is perfect for spoiling a beloved little dog or cat.
