Tall American Prohibition Era Pewter Cocktail Shaker
SKU
DA5834602
An extra tall Prohibition Era American hammered pewter cocktail shaker with a yellow and black bakelite handle, lid finial and unscrewing spout cap by Krome Kraft for Farber Brothers, New York, circa 1930s.
Different in style to the English, smaller silver plated versions, this cocktail shaker would have been used at home during the Prohibition Era in the USA from 1920-1933, when alcohol sales were not allowed. This led to an explosion of ‘home use’ and cocktails were easier to get ingredients for than wines from Europe.
