Part of our Contemporary Created Collection A sofa of bountiful proportions, the Monty has real country house appeal. This sofa of lavish dimensions is christened after the indomitable Uncle Monty of Withnail and I fame. The inspiration for the Monty came from a sofa found upside down in a barn in rural Herefordshire. Forgotten by all but a few mice, we rescued this faded aristocrat and brought it to our studios. We were so struck by its restored glory that we had to add it to our collection. The Details We build our Monty up from a hardwood beech frame, using only traditional methods and materials. With a hand-tied coil-sprung seat and back, there is no foam used in the build up. The fully upholstered seat and back are both deep-buttoned. The legs come in a variety of woods and finishes. We use bespoke turned dark oak legs on The Monty as standard, inspired by the original. The Monty, like all of our sofas, can be made completely bespoke. We want this to be your perfect sofa, so if you want it a bit bigger or smaller, softer or firmer, or anything else just ask and we will do our best to accommodate. The price excludes fabric. If you need some help finding the perfect fabric, let us know. It takes approximately 20 metres in a plain fabric to cover a standard Monty. For patterns, and bespoke sizes, get in touch and we can advise on fabric quantity.
