The subjects are depicted in smart Regency costumes and top hats. Presented in their original rosewood frame. One of the portraits is of Admiral Rous and the other is Mr. Payne, plus two unnamed gentlemen.

This portrait is in the manner of Richard Dighton (1795-1880). Dighton was a London-based English artist in the Regency period. He was best known for his satirical profiles of contemporary London characters and celebrities.
