This attractive example has a highly artistic design where each drawing in the field is cleverly repeated in a different shape and subtle colour combination, framed by a wide border. It has a wonderful variety of vegetable-dyed colours that have aged nicely.
Antique Bakhtiar carpets from west Persia are among the most intriguing and distinct styles of antique Persian rugs, boasting a fascinating historical heritage and character. They are one of the few types of Persian rugs that encompass both nomadic tribal and antique rug designs and are notable for their high wool quality and rich colours.
