Pair of French Tufted Slipper Chairs
Pair of French 19th Century tufted slipper chairs, in the Louis XV style.
These lovely chairs have button back upholstery. The backs have moulded uprights terminating in scroll tops.
The scroll apron is centred by a leaf within an elaborate c scroll.
Supported on cabriole legs surmounted by clasped acanthus leaves and terminating in upturned scroll feet.
These chairs would be a beautiful and classic addition to a bedroom or dressing room.
'Slipper chairs' take their name from their original use; they were designed for noble ladies to sit and put their shoes on in comfort.
